Rectus Femoris Repair

Overview
The rectus femoris is one of four muscles that helps to make up the quadriceps or thigh muscles.  The majority of muscle and tendon related injuries occur to the rectus femoris, and as with any muscle, it is attached to the bone in the hip by a tendon.  If the rupture of the rectus femoris muscle or tendon is severe enough, then surgical intervention will be required.  A rectus femoris rupture is a common injury in soccer as well as football.
